Calzada de Amador / Causeway

Hola a todos,

¿Qué planes tenéis para el finde? A los residentes/visitantes de Panamá os invito a conocer una de las actividades imprescindibles del país: pasear por la Calzada o Causeway de Amador, un perfecto lugar para relajarse y disfrutar de las vistas. Por un lado ofrece vistas de los pintorescos y altos edificios de Avenida Balboa y Punta Paitilla, y por otro, del Puente de las Américas y el transitado canal.

La calzada, bordeada de palmeras, une cuatro pequeñas islas en la Bahía de Panamá: Naos, Culebra, Perico y Flamingo. El causeway de Amador está rodeado por un camino frecuentado por gente paseando, o practicando footing, ciclistas o urbanitas paseando a sus perros. Como curiosidad, este camino que une las islas fue construido utilizando rocas de la excavación del Canal de Panamá, y resulta un excelente lugar para vigilar las inmediaciones. De hecho, llegó a ser un centro estratégico de la comandancia.

En la actualidad, alberga una terminal de barcos, un centro comercial, un puerto deportivo lleno de yates y al final de la Calzada de Amador se encuentran varios establecimientos de duty-free que ofrecen amplia variedad de perfumes, licores, cosméticos y demás artículos a precios menores que en los comercios regulares. Además, está lleno de restaurantes, bares y clubs nocturnos y por la noche resulta un lugar muy concurrido y vibrante.

Hello to everyone,

Which plans do you have for the weekend? To the resident/visitors of Panama I invite to meet one of the essential activities to do in the country: walk by the road or the Amador's Causeway, a perfect place to relax and enjoy of the sightseeings. On the one hand it offers sights of the picturesque and high buildings of Balboa Av and Punta Paitilla, and on the other hand, the Americas' bridge and the busy Canal.

The road, hugged the coast with palm trees, joins four little islands of the Panama's Bay: Naos, Culebra, Perico and Flamingo. The Amador's causeway is surrounded by a road frequented by people walking, or practicing jogging, cyclists or urbanites walking their dogs. As curiosity, this road that joins the islands was built using rocks from the excavation of the Panama Canal, and it results an excellent place to watch the surrounding areas. In fact, it became a strategic place of the command headquarters.

Nowadays, lodges a ship terminal, a mall, a sporting port full of yachts and at the end of the Causeway some duty-free shops that offer a wide assorted of perfumes, liquors, cosmetics and other articles low cost than in the regular shops. Furthermore, it's plenty of restaurants, bars and night clubs and at night it results a very popular and vibrant place.
