Hi there,

Which plans do you have for the last weekend of August? This Friday I propose you to visit and enjoy of the wonderful Panama Canal. Do you know that Panama is the only port in the World with terminals on both oceans? Approximately, 80 kilometers separate the Atlantic to the Pacific, that allows a full connectivity with everywhere in the World.

Recently were celebrated the 98th years of the Canal to the service of the worldwide trade, from a 15th August 1914 that carried out the first vessel traffic by the Ancon's ship. The Canal is from 12 years ago under the Panamanian administration beyond the Autoridad del Canal de Panama, as goes back at 31th December 1999. In fact, accordingly to the Panamanian Constitution the Canal constitutes an inalienable patrimony of the nation and will remain open to the pacific and uninterrupted traffic of the vessels from all the nations.

The Panama Canal subjected to referendum the decision to extend the interoceanic way. The Panamanians voted agree to the extend project, and it was started on 2007, being foresee its end as of October 2014.

On the visitor's center in Miraflores you can meet closer the Canal's running. Furthermore, in the building you can find the restaurant of the Canal where you can enjoy wonderful sightseeings of the Canal and tasting delicious local gastronomy. An excellent plan to spend a day of the weekend. Do you like it?
