Camino de Cruces

Una excursión recomendable para pasear la mañana de un domingo cualquiera es la de tomar el sendero del histórico Camino de Cruces. Una caminata por la abundante vegetación y vida silvestre, por los frondosos bosques, las ruinas y las huellas del que fuera el camino utilizado por los colonizadores españoles en uno de los senderos más importantes del continente por ser paso en la "ruta del oro de Perú". 

Siglos atrás, la ruta del oro hacia España comenzaba en Lima, Perú. Desde allá, los barcos llevaban los tesoros hasta la ciudad de Panamá en donde cargaban en mulas los tesoros para el viaje a Portobelo. Una vez allí, se registraban las mercancías y se disponían a ser trasladas a España bajo una fuerte seguridad marítima. 

Muchas estaciones en la ruta comenzaron a surgir para albergar a los viajeros. La más importante fue la villa de Venta de Cruces, donde el sendero cruzaba el río Chagres. Desde allí se podía optar por una ruta acuática que llegaba hasta su desembocadura, junto al Fuerte de San Lorenzo. 

Con esta pieza en la historia, comenzamos este sendero que nos condujo hasta el río Cabuya. Una caminata muy recomendable. 

Imprescindibles:  ropa cómoda y calzado de montaña o deportivo - mochila - gorra - botella de agua - repelente de mosquitos.

A walking tour recommended for a Sunday morning is to take either the path of the historic El Camino de Cruces. A walk through the lush vegetation and wildlife, through the lush forests, ruins and traces of what was the path used by Spanish colonizers in one of the continent's most important paths to be step in the "golden path Peru ".

With this piece in history began this path that led to the river Cabuya. A highly recommended walk.
