Fuerte de Santiago de la Gloria, Portobelo

Ya culminando los posts anteriores de esta semana sobre Portobelo, hoy despido la semana con imágenes del Fuerte de Santiago de la Gloria. 

Como reseña histórica, indicaros que se comenzó a construir en 1600. Su construcción adopta un estilo neoclásico. Se mantuvo en pie durante 68 años, hasta el ataque del pirata Henry Morgan. Tal y como os comenté en Fuerte de San Jerónimo, posteriormente, con el ataque de Edward Vernon en 1739 y sus ambiciones por cortar el dominio español, se despertó la alarma. Y con ello que se planteó reformar el sistema de defensa del Caribe. De tal forma, se encargó a un equipo de ingenieros la adecuación de tal sistema defensivo.

Ya en cuanto al lugar como tal, disfrutamos de unas vistas maravillosas de la bahía. La visita merece la pena, aunque os recomiendo encarecidamente ir acompañados de un sombrero, unas buenas gafas de sol, y una botella de agua fresca. Todavía recuerdo el calor que pasamos, superando los 30 grados centígrados a pleno mediodía.

Y bueno, este fin de semana volveré a aprovecharlo y visitar nuevos lugares sin salir de la ciudad, recopilando las mejores imágenes para mostrar en el blog, que me encanta poder compartirlas con vosotros.

Reaching the previous posts of this week about Portobelo, today I say goodbye to the week with pics of Santiago de la Gloria Fortress.

As historical description, mention that was started to build in 1600. Its construction adopts an neoclassic style. It stood during 68 years, until the pirate attack of Henry Morgan. As I told you in the previous post Fuerte de San Jerónimo, later, with the Edward Vernon's attack in 1739 and his ambitions  to cut off spanish control, the alarm sparked off. And with that set out reforming the defense system of Caribbean. As a result, an engineer´team was in charge to adequate that.

With regard to a place like that, we enjoyed of an amazing sights of the bay. The sight worths it, although I strongly recommend go with a hat, a good sunglasses an a fresh water bottle. I still remember the heat there, exceeding the 30 celsius degrees at plenty midday.

And this weekend I´ll take profit to visit new places without exit out of the city, compiling the best pics to show the blog, because I love to can share them with you.
